Microscope: the Timelines

I had an urge to turn our Microscope timelines into electronic files this morning, so I thought I’d share them with you.This first one is from The Scourging game:

  1. Interesting.

    So from looking at this and your previous posts on the topic, the point of the game, from what it looks like to me, is to construct the history.

    In other words, it looks like the “world building phase” of Shock, turned into an entire game.

  2. I’ve glanced over Shock: but never played it, Paul, so I can’t speak to the similarities.

    You’re correct, though, Microscope is all about collaboratively creating a history. It’s pretty fun and if Ben is still taking playtesters, I recommend getting a copy and playing it yourself.
